Acknowledgements

The Revistas de Ideias e Cultura (RIC) research and publishing programme was made possible by the generous and committed participation of the Fundação Mário Soares e Maria Barroso, represented by Dr. Alfredo Caldeira, and the Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal, directed by Dr. Inês Cordeiro, in the project presented by the Seminário Livre de História das Ideias.

This enthusiasm was passed on to team leaders and technicians of both institutions, as readily observable in their unsurpassed diligence for carrying out all the tasks with which they contribute to the ongoing work.

For their trust and very substantial support, thanks are also due to the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, the board of the Centro de História da Cultura, and, finally, the board of CHAM – Centre of Humanities.

The funding received from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, for three research proposals, and from the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, for the study and preparation for publication of two magazine titles, was pivotal in defining and consolidating the project.

In an undertaking such as this – both extensive and diversified – in which networking and joint efforts are decisive for accessing and studying the sources, collaborations mostly depend on the research conducted for each individual magazine; as such, more thorough mentions can be found in the websites dedicated to them.

Lastly, we thank designer Alexandre Carvalho for the competent, generous, and swift creation of the general layout model.
