Acknowledgements

The editors of the O Tempo e o Modo website thank the shared interest and collaboration of the Centro Nacional de Cultura, its Board, and the Director General of Activities, Teresa Tamen, who have made it possible to study and share this fundamental periodical of the Portuguese political and cultural history of the 20th century, first with a DVD and now online.

The collaboration of the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, namely through the support given to the creation of the databases that map and record the publication’s content, has shown to be equally decisive. A public expression of acknowledgement is due.

Thanks are also owed to Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins for the permission to reproduce an introductory study of the magazine of thought and action, to Joana Lopes and Luís Salgado Matos for the prompt consent to include their texts, to Arnaldo Matos and Amadeu Lopes Sabino for their individual original testimonies.

On this occasion, we would be amiss to forget the close and very generous collaboration of the Archive & Library of the Fundação Mário Soares, represented by its administrator Alfredo Caldeira, which enabled the detailed and extensive reconstruction of the magazine’s history through mostly unpublished documents.
